Sure, rooftop views are amazing, but there's nothing like taking in the city from 103 floors up! This summer, head up to Skydeck to take in the breathtaking views of Chicago and experience the city like you’ve never seen.
One of the cities most Instagrammable spots is The Ledge. Here you can step outside the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere at 1,353 feet in the air and look down at the streets below! The Ledge’s glass boxes extend out 4.3 feet from the Skydeck. Just take a look at their virtual tour to get a taste of what an amazing memory this will be!
When taking a picture toward the windows, be sure to use the “backlight” function of your camera if it’s an option. You should also turn off your flash and polarizer filter to allow your camera to capture the view behind your subject.
And if you’re worried about missing out on a one-of-a-kind photo, they can take your picture! Any of the Skydeck team members are available to take your photo on request, and they also offer a professional photo team that can take your picture and have it ready for you in a custom folder before you leave so there's no chance that you won't get an amazing picture to share on social. It's guaranteed to get lots of likes!
Of course, to help limit the spread of COVID and keep staff and customers safe, the Skydeck has implemented some new safety precautions you should be aware of. The number of people allowed inside is now limited and tickets are selling fast, so a timed ticketing system has been put in place with limited admissions sold for each half-hour period during Skydeck's operating day. It is recommended you purchase your tickets in advance online to ensure your spot.
Once inside the building, you'll notice floor markings and signs to help keep people at least six feet apart. Elevator guest capacity has been reduced and there can only be one family at a time allowed on The Ledge, which actually helps to create a more exclusive experience.
When coming to Chicago, the Skydeck is absolutely a must-do!
